This section contains the terms on the payment that you will receive. Most agreements encloses that there shall be three dates of payment on which one – third of the agreed amount is given. First payment is commonly given during the signing of the contract, the second on the presentation of a satisfactory ms; lastly, on the date of publication. You may also agree on different provisos. You may have two dates of payments, instead of three, on which one half is given during the contract signing and the other half on delivery. When purchasers are book clubs or overseas markets, you’re probably getting only one half of what the royalty rates are. As for licensing sales, the publisher and you will divide the amount you gain.
